Description
Take a private day-trip to Tsarskoye Selo, now know as Pushkin, which lies just outside of St. Petersburg. As a former country residence for the Russian emperors, it is at Tsarskoye Selo that you will find Catherine’s Palace, one of the most beautiful examples of Russian Baroque architecture and home to the world-famous Amber Room. You will also have the chance to take pictures of Alexander's Palace (currently closed for renovation and not available to enter), which is of great historical significance. It was here where the last Russian Tsar, Tsar Nicholas II, and his family spent their final months before being exiled to Ekaterinburg and finally executed. Begin your journey to Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin) at approximately 10:00, when you will meet your tour guide in the lobby of your hotel. Travel to Pushkin by public transport, taking the subway and bus. The journey will take approximately 1.5 hours, depending on the traffic. Once in Pushkin, explore Catherine's palace (the duration of the actual palace tour is around 1.5 hours). Then, start your exploration of the beautiful park of Tsarskoye Selo, taking a coffee break if you need one. After the tour to Catherine's Palace you will visit the Museum of Court Carriages, a permanent exhibition of court carriages from the eighteenth to the early twentieth centuries. The tour involves quite a lot of walking but if you get tired you may stop to rest and relax. Return to St. Petersburg at approximately 16:00 to 17:00.Includes
