This hidden gem in St. Petersburg, Florida features one of the best-preserved American Indian mounds in the state and is generally recognized as the landing place of the 1528 Narváez Expedition. The four survivors of this ill-fated journey, led by Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca, walked across North America over eight years, from Florida to the Pacific Ocean! We also dive into the hidden history of Pinellas County and our beautiful gulf beaches. The history tour lasts 75 – 90 minutes, and admission includes a small museum with archaeological artifacts.
